The three Houses of Hope provide accommodation, supervision, and help to 12 to 17 year old adolescents. The Brome Missisquoi Youth Foundation owns and maintains these residences in Cowansville, the first house having been built in 1998. The goal is to provide a safe and stable environment for the eight teenagers in each house who are experiencing difficult family, school, personal and social situations and give them a chance to achieve a brighter future. Over 1,100 at risk adolescents have been helped over the years. The need for this temporary accommodation has doubled over the past five years. When the need arises, we serve the teenage population outside the Monteregie region.
The Foundation has been very fortunate to receive continued financial support from community groups, Foundations and individuals. We would like to thank The Zeller Family Foundation, The Knowlton Lions Club, The Church of the Ascension Ladies Guild, The Contat Trust, the Norman Raschkowan Foundation, Henry Schreiber and the Eric T. Webster Foundation.
We rely on donations from individuals and organizations and on fundraising events to provide the facilities and funds to help make a difference in the lives of the youth we serve. It is our hope that we can help the residents reach their full potential and achieve a bright future.
The Foundation is also grateful to the many volunteers who donate their time to the fundraising events and the activities of the Foundation.
Thank you for your generosity. We greatly value the support of the community and indivduals as we endeavour to provide a better lif for the youth in our care.
