Below you will find some testimonials from some of our residents:
« Being at the Living Room has made me a different person than I was when I first came here. When I came here, I was always aggressive, I had anger problems, I didn’t know how to control myself. I started slow steps to get myself under control, and when it was the best time to use the tricks I was given. After a couple weeks, I started to regain what I was missing, and I was missing respect of myself. Thanks to the Living Room. I appreciate all you have done for me. » Mickael
Dear Foundation members,
The group home has changed me in many ways. I am more patient and I value things more than I did before. I have learned many things here, like cooperating with people I do not like. There are things that I have appreciated since I have been at BMAYS, such as Christmas gifts at Christmas and the driving courses I have been doing since January. The activities we do at the group home have taught me to appreciate things in life. Without the foundation it would not be possible to do or have these amazing things. Jasmine
Dear Foundation members,
The effects that BMAYS group home has had on me: I appreciate my family and home much more and I appreciate my family for who they are. BMAYS also helped me see what is truly important to me. I have been more polite and respectful thanks to the educators who remind me every time I step out of line. Anthony
Hello. My name is John. I am 16 years old and have been living at BMAYS for over a year now. Being at the group
home has helped me with my anger and social problems. Since being at BMAYS, I have done more activities than I
would have done at home this summer. For example, I love Manga comic books and one of the staff at BMYAS
introduced me to an entire library in Montreal that only has Manga comics. This is an activity to do on my own. The
staff showed me how to use the public transport to get to the library so I can go on my own when I’m at home. If I had
been in the same state of mind I was in before coming to BMAYS, I would have never done any of these activities. Living
at BMAYS has helped change me so that I can be more respectful at home with my family and in everyday life.
Hi. I am Marie. I’m 14 and live at BMAYS. I would like to sincerely thank you for providing many fun and exciting activities you have generously helped provide to us. I especially appreciate the gym passes we are provided with which allows us to join classes such as Zumba. We also have gotten season passes to Bromont which is very fun and refreshing on a hot summer day. We also get to get ice caps at Tim Hortons. I appreciate hard work and generosity you have provided me and all the residents.
Hi. My name is Keven. I’m 17 and I would like to thank you for giving us money. I was able to do fun things – most fun was snowboarding – and get my mind off trouble and Thank you again.
Hi. My name is Ryan. I’m a resident at BMAYS and I’d just like to say thank you for all the money and stuff you’ve given us and you guys have given a chance to experience stuff I wouldn’t be able to afford cause it’s really expensive like Park Safari, Bromont Water Slides, the Quebec trip and La Ronde. I just wanted to send you this letter cause I appreciate all the stuff you’ve done for us especially the snowboarding.
